Public holiday closures vary and will be posted well in advance. Appointments with doctors are available from 07:15 - 08:00 (Tues -Thurs) , 0830-1100 and then from 1330-1600 and 1630-1730. The practice nurses are available from 0830-1215 and from 1330-1630.

To see a doctor or practice nurse always telephone the main reception number 0844 477 8712. The emergency service to call when the surgery is closed is called NHS24 and the number to call is 0845 4 24 24 24.

TYPES OF APPOINTMENT

1. Need to be seen today?

Most Doctors appointments are available on the day in the morning with some availability in the afternoon. If you require a morning same day appointment with Springwell Medical Centre the doctor you require to ring the surgery as soon as possible after the surgery opens at 08:00 hrs and ask for a SAME DAY appointment. . If you require an afternoon SAME DAY appointment you require to ring the surgery as soon as possible after 11:00hrs. The earlier you call to both these times the more choice and availability you will have. There will of course be occasions when we will not be able to give you a SAME DAY appointment e.g excessive demand ,but we will try our best to minimise this situation.

Please note that Practice Nurse appointments are all pre-bookable.

2. Want to be seen in the future?

We also have some PRE-BOOKABLE appointments and if your problem can wait or you require a specific time of day or doctor then it would be better to ask for one of these appointments.

3. Just need to speak to doctor?

Ask for a PRE-BOOKABLE TELEPHONE consultation appointment. These are suitable for such things as follow up appointments, prescription queries, discussing results/hospital visits and minor illnesses such as cystitis.

4. Need a home visit ?

If you can manage we expect you to come to the surgery. It takes 5 times as long to see a patient at home . The doctors feel that they can perform a better examination with the surgery equipment available. However , if you cannot manage to come to the surgery ask for a "HOME VISIT". Please call before 11am if you require a home visit.
